How to Remove surfvox.com Completely

About surfvox.com. 

So there’s a virus on my computer which reset my chrome browser settings, homepage and default search engine to surfvox.com and homepage to surfvox.com. No matter how many times I reinstall chrome and homepage and search engine to default, it keeps resetting it after every reboot. I did a quick scan with MSE but nothing showed up…

Above is the description of a user when his computer was attacked by surfvox.com. From what he said we can know that surfvox.com is a kind of browser hijacker that deserves to be removed immediately.


First, surfvox.com gets into your computer without your knowledge. After that, it modifies your browser homepage and settings and change the default browser. Resetting the default and homepage is useless as it will change again when you turn on your computer and open your browser. Or it will pop up an alert window when you are browsing, when you click the ACK button you will be redirected to surfvox.com. Like most of the browser hijacker, surfvox.com changes the default homepage. Thus, when user open browser, its producer can generate the fee by visiting surfvox.com homepage.

Step 4: Clean up Surfvox.com and its relevant components from Browsers.

1.    Click on Customized and Google Chrome-> Choose Settings -> Go to Extensions. Locate Surfvox.com and select it -> click Trash button
